One of the things families don’t always see is what happens when the children go home.
Once a month, our entire team stays after work for two hours.
We learn.
We collaborate.
We solve problems.
We share ideas.
And yes…there’s usually food and plenty of laughter too.
Those monthly staff meetings are one of the most important parts of who we are.
Every educator brings different experiences, different ideas, and different strengths to the table. When we come together, we learn from one another—and every child benefits.
This year, our professional development focuses on social-emotional development and the Massachusetts Preschool and Pre-K Learning Standards.
We’re constantly asking ourselves questions like:
“How can we better support children who are learning to regulate their emotions?”
“What experiences inspire curiosity?”
“How can we make learning even more meaningful?”
Those conversations don’t happen because we’re required to have them.
They happen because we believe children deserve educators who are always growing.
We often say that children learn best through relationships.
The same is true for educators.
When teachers collaborate, mentor one another, and continue learning together, they create stronger classrooms, more meaningful experiences, and a more consistent environment for every child.
At ScribbleTime, professional development isn’t a day on the calendar.
It’s part of our culture.
Because when educators continue to grow, children do too.
